Practice partnership – Open letter

Open Letter to Patients

(Patient Notice)

Dear Liquorpond Patient,

We are writing to inform you of some recent changes at Liquorpond Surgery.

The practice partnership changed on the 1st June 2020 when Dr Simon Lowe and Mr Ian Blakey joined the existing Partnership of Dr Nolan and Dr Fernandes. As of the 1st November 2020 both Drs Nolan and Fernandes stepped down from Partnership responsibilities and became salaried doctors. We are very pleased indeed that they have chosen to remain at the Practice.

The practice will be working together in order to continue to provide a high standard of care that is sustainable for the future. This is important with the ongoing growth of the local population and increasingly complex care required for individual patients.

We would like to reassure you that the partnership changes will have no adverse impact on the way you will receive care from the Surgery. You will still be seen here at Liquorpond Surgery by a wide range of clinical specialists including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and other Healthcare professionals.

We believe the practice will now be stronger, more resilient and in a better position to attract and retain new staff, across a wider range of specialities.

The current clinical staff level:

6 x General Practitioners (Mixed Sessional Levels)
3 x Advance Nurse Practitioner (Mixed Sessional Levels)
2 x Practice Nurses (Rising to 4 x PNs in January 2021)
2 x Healthcare Support Workers (Rising to 4x HCAs in January 2021)
1 x Pharmacist
1 x Physiotherapist First Contact Practitioner

Our clinical systems are being updated and developed to ensure the right training and knowledge is available which will allow our systems and staff to function more efficiently.

Plans are already in place to upgrade to a new telephone system in January 2021, which will significantly improve our efficiency with dealing with incoming calls.

We are committed to developing and ensuring continual good practice for our patients and would welcome feedback from any of our patients.
